Lions Rugby was founded in 2000 by Dave Malone. It has just concluded it's 25th season.

LUCAS KETTER
Coach Ketter is not only the high school boys coach, he is an alumni of the team himself. Ketter joined the team in 2002, playing prop. After his graduation, he returned to the team as a coach. This year marks his 18th year with the team.
JOSEPH ALVERNAZ
Coach Alvernaz took over the team from it's founder, Dave Malone, in 2003. Prior to his time with the Lions, Alvernaz played hooker for Oregon State University. Alvernaz is proud to have two of his children on the teams this year.

This is Tracy's first year of coaching. He is excitedly bringing back the LB Girls program for the first time since 2018!

Kyle Pope
Aaron Pope
Quentin Baker
Aaron Pope graduated in 2014 having played for the Lions for 4 years. He spent two seasons with Oregon State Men's Rugby team.
Kyle Pope graduated in 2020 having played 6 years of Lions rugby. He played at Oregon State for one season.
Quentin is our most recent graduate. Having played for a combined Valley/ Linn Benton team in 2023. He spent 6 years playing Lions rugby and played one season playing for Western Oregon.
